Winter range study · 2026/27

How far do electric campers go in winter? We measure it with the rental fleets.

Independent range tests exist for 2 of 29 electric campers, and hardly any in winter. Our range planner therefore assumes a flat 28 % loss in winter. Rental fleets drive these vans every day: their monthly figures replace an assumption with measurements.

  • What we ask for

Per vehicle and month: km driven, kWh charged and the average outside temperature. Ideally December to February, summer months welcome for comparison.

  • What we publish

Consumption per 100 km and the resulting range per vehicle and season, with every fleet named and linked as a source. A value appears from 1,000 km per vehicle and season.

  • What we do not need

No customer data, no single trips, no GPS tracks. Monthly totals per vehicle are enough.

Results

No figures received yet. Results appear here as soon as a fleet has reported at least 1,000 km of one season for a vehicle. Planned measurement period: December 2026 to February 2027.

How the figures are calculated: kWh charged divided by km driven, per vehicle and season (December to February is winter). Charging losses are included, which is what matters for the trip. More in the methodology.
